Nick,
If we're only talking fast food places, then I would tend to
agree. Burger King also has some pretty good fries.
As I told Nightfox, I prefer their chicken nuggets and onion rings.
However, the latter produce rather stinky farts, that I thought a
skunk had entered the room. <G>
But as for asking for "no salt," I couldn't do that. They're so
much better when they're salted right out of the fryer, since
the grease is still on them to act as a binder. ;)
I rarely season my food, but I know that the processed foods are
loaded with sodium...which isn't good if you have a heart condition
(as I do, with congestive heart failure). However, I drink plenty of
no sugar, low calorie fruit punch drink I make from packets I get
from Kroger), and the Lasix keeps my kidneys in high gear.
I saw a meme on Facebook that noted "If you see a light on here
at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve, it means I have to go
pee. <G>
Before my wife died nearly 19 years ago now, when we'd fry up
hamburgers, we'd use salt, pepper, and minced onion on them. Now,
if I want burgers, I order from DoorDash, or get them from Kroger.
Also, whenever we'd order out for pizza, she told them "I want every
anchovy you have in the place!!". I told her "You can have those nasty things!!". To me, those are a massive salt lick!! When her parents
asked me why I didn't stop her, I replied "Every time I said something,
she just gave me the stink eye. So, I felt it better to shut up".
However, I still have plenty of the Kroger 3 minute microwave pizzas,
along with several loaves of bread, and several varieties of tuna salad...including Deli Style, Ranch, Bacon Ranch, Hickory Smoke, Honey
Barbecue (my favorite), Lemon Pepper, and Herb N Garlic. There are
other "hot and spicy varieties" that I don't care for. But, I add some
Kraft Sweet Honey Barbecue Sauce to enhance the flavor on wheat bread,
and it makes for a tasty meal. One packet can prepare 2 sandwiches.
I do like to have Funions or Lays Dill Pickle Potato Chips with them.
